The “Jungle House” is a safari lodge situated 20 minutes from the Udawalawe National Park. Just off the A18 main road from Palmadulla to Embilipitya at the 96th mile post[44th km], the lodge is a stone’s throw away from many an interesting attraction. Themed as a typical park lodge, the Jungle House abuts the Rakwana River in lush green surroundings and plenty of bird life. The bungalow is situated in such a central location which allows you to go out on day excursions and proceed to locations in the hill country or the Southern beaches. Within an hour’s drive are waterfalls, elephant transit home, prehistoric burial site, cottage industry, ancient royal Buddhist temple, historic irrigation engineering marvels and many wildlife parks. The decked bungalow provides a treecanopy experience with comfortable bedding and bird call to wake you up in slightly misty and chilly conditions. The flow of the river sounds like a soothing lullaby at night and the nights give you wonderful sleep under the clear skies and bright stars. The Jungle House caters to small groups of family and friends who can occupy the full bungalow with the cook and the caretaker at hand to take care of you. Bedding is provided for 12 adults sharing 3 rooms and a dorm style deck area. All beds are provided with mosquito nets.
